In 1991, following the Phillip Pannell tragedy, we chose action over silence. Founded in Montclair, New Jersey, BBU emerged as a grassroots movement dedicated to instruction and mentorship. Over three decades, we have evolved from a local response into a structured brotherhood, providing the discipline and guidance necessary to protect men.
We believe instruction builds strategy and discipline shapes character. Rooted in thirty years of lived experience, BBU provides mentorship and education that foster confidence and direction. Through consistent community involvement, our accountability protects futures, ensuring every interaction empowers boys and men to lead with purpose.
Our mission is to uplift boys and men through real mentorship, structured leadership training, and community service shaped by more than three decades of lived experience.
Our vision is generations of disciplined men, grounded in instruction and unity, who lead their families, strengthen neighborhoods, and model service-driven leadership.
Cultivating character through structured instruction, accountability, and self-reliance to drive meaningful impact and create sustainable, collective economic success.
